for me there is only the traveling on Paths
that have Heart
on any Path that may have Heart
and the only worthwhile challenge is
to traverse its full length.
and there I travel
looking looking breathlessly

Looking back I started on this path when I was around 16 years old and read the Tao Te Qing and I remember how my mind was intrigued and puzzled by sayings like 'the name that can be said is not the real name' or variations thereof. Interest in Zen Buddhism made me sit up late into the night til my knees hurt, but my mind was still.
This journey has taken me into the practices of Shamanism (mainly with Leo Rutherfords Eagle's Wing and Arwyn Dreamwalker in 1990's), trainings in 5 Rhythms Dance, Shiatsu, Voice work with Chloe Goodchild and Soul Retrieval in that decade. Qigong and Yoga were also around from a Training in Psychotherapy in the 80's.
In this century I took up the challenge of becoming a chinese herbalist.
I am also a director of the Rosemount Centre for Complementary Therapies, Aberdeen and one of three teachers with Aberdeen Schoo of Shiatsu (formerly Aberdeen College of Shiatsu).
But all of that is a just how I can summarise a little bit of my background and interest. The main thing though seems to me that I/we need to remember to simply be present to what is actually happening and that, when we start learning or re-learning that, love is the pattern of life, that sustains all and everything.
To engage fully in what I am doing is the key to seeing and feeling that connection to Life and my favourite practices for this have to be Yoga and Dance, and yes, Singing.
